Wingate was originally a lifeboat from the cruise ship Canberra. During this period she went to the Falkland Islands and helped save marines when the Sir Galahad was bombed in the Sy Carlos sound. There is a photo on board of this event. She was decommissioned in the 1980s and started life as a trip boat in Arboath. Around 1988 she was purchased by Peter Adams our predecessor and brought down south where she was given a refit and changed to her present format.
She is licensed by the MCA to carry 52 passengers and conforms with all their vigorous requirements. The skippers all undergo a minimum of 3 months training before they can take their skippers ticket, so you are in good hands.
During your trip you will be able to purchase refreshments – coffee, tea, beers, soft drinks, snacks etc. We can also cater for parties on board. By prior arrangement we will organize buffet style finger foods and drinks to suit your requirements; maybe a glass of bubbly for that special occasion.
